In a culture that often focuses on vulnerability and weakness, Pastor Johnny Teague (head pastor at Church of the Cross) and guest counselor George Hebert (Licensed Paramedic and Counselor at Shield Bearer Counseling Centers) sit down to discuss a timeless biblical mandate: finding strength and courage when life hits hardest.

Drawing from his 20+ years as a paramedic and counselor, George shares how building "faith calluses" and remembering past victories—just like King David facing Goliath—helps us navigate trauma, loss, and life’s unpredictable challenges today. Callers join the conversation to share how their faith carried them through personal trials, while the hosts offer actionable wisdom on building spiritual resilience and where to turn when you need professional support.

On this special episode of Church Quake, Pastor Johnny Teague (head pastor at Church of the Cross) and Michelle Temafonte (Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Director at Shield Bearer Counseling Centers) pause to reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11th. Moving beyond everyday topics, they open the phone lines to listeners across Houston to share where they were, how their lives were impacted, and how our nation processed collective trauma through faith, prayer, and community support.

From personal memories of seminary classrooms and distant family stress to heartfelt calls from veterans, former NYC locals, and those who were just children in 2001, this episode offers a reverent look at processing deep trauma, finding comfort, and journeying toward healing.
