About Bro. Darriel (Buck) Nicholson
Bro. Darriel “Buck” Nicholson was a beloved evangelist and broadcast speaker born May 23, 1935, near Duke, Oklahoma. Raised in a Christian home, he surrendered to preach during his high school years and delivered his first sermon at his home church in Rocky, Oklahoma. After earning degrees in Speech and Christian theology—including a doctorate in theology—he spent more than 72 years faithfully preaching across multiple states and serving various congregations.
In 2011, Bro. Nicholson founded Spreading the Word Ministry to share uncompromising, Scripture-centered biblical teaching with listeners around the world. Bro. Buck’s ministry and on-air presence continued for decades, touching hearts across the U.S. and beyond—including outreach into Texas Department of Criminal Justice institutions. He passed away June 5, 2024, at age 89, leaving behind a legacy of faith-filled preaching and global impact.
