Dr. Charles Redmond
Dr. Charles Redmond has been the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, since January of 1990.
A graduate of Georgia State University (B.A.), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Luther Rice Seminary (D.Min.), Dr. Redmond’s desire is to see people trust Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord and to help them grow in their relationship with Him.
Dr. Redmond and his wife, Dottie, have two sons. Their older son, Jon, is the Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church in Pasadena. Peace by Believing is a Christ-centered outreach ministry that was founded in 2007 by the Redmond family. The purpose of Peace by Believing is to help people who are hurting in life and searching for peace. The name of the ministry is based on Romans 15:13 which says, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” While Peace by Believing has a multi-faceted outreach emphasis, the media aspect of the ministry is currently and primarily funded by the members of First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas.
Peace is a wonderful thing. Everybody wants it, but not everybody has it. In fact, the Bible teaches that real peace can only be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When we place our faith in Him, our hearts enter into a state of calmness, tranquility, ease, and rest. These words describe peace. One of the clearest verses in the Bible, Romans 5:1, says it this way: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” When our faith is in Jesus, peace enters our hearts.
There are many people who are looking for peace in all the wrong places. Some look for it in relationships. Others look for it in money.
